Welcome

Welcome to my Kal-OS Website. Kal-OS will be developed primarily for Kaldus Computer Industry (KCI) devices. This will include their computers, and handheld devices. For desktops, and notebook PCs, there will be a computer version of the OS. There will be a special chip to assure that Kal-OS is only installed on KCI systems. The reason for this is to have a walled garden that would protect the user from would be cyber attacks, viruses, and malware. There will also be tighter integration with Kaldan resources, and capabilities. You would find a number of applications built into the OS, Server Capabilities, and connections with services. All of these resources will have their own page to go into further details.

For the mobile version, this will support PDAs, and smartphones. KCI will not build any basic (dumb) phones, and everything will run on the handheld version of the OS. There will be .apk app support, but there will not be the deep integration of Google’s services. This will require KCI to give incentives to provide their software in the Kal-OS repository. In addition to that, there will be apps developed by KCI, and the government to enhance the capabilities of the devices, therefore making the most of the resources available.

Kal-OS will also be developed for printers, ebook reader/tablets, and TVs. As with all of the other OSes, there will be repositories to allow for additional functionality. For example, one might have a KCI printer, and will therefore be able to download the Fax app which will use the telephone provider’s SIP service to receive and send faxes. If the provider offers fax by email, then this app will be able to handle that as well. However, not everyone needs this functionality, so those that do need it will be able to download and install that capability.
