K-Fax is a document fax system. You can have some creativity with the cover page, but everything will be simple. You would use a format similar to an email message. The to will be the fax number you would need the computer to dial. The Subject is the subject of the fax, and the body is what would show on the cover sheet. You can then attach .pdf files as the documents you would want to fax. The application must have a compatible eFax service. You would be able to acquire Fax Over Internet Protocol. The fax application will support FOIP? natively.
K-Fax will require a supporting FOIP account to set up, and use K-Fax. This is essential, and KCI does not provide faxing services. In addition, the subscriber can also use an eFax service, but again – this will be with another provider. For a supporting Provider, one could use any Kaldan telephone carrier that offers SIP? services. You would need to provide your FOIP credentials to support faxing from your computer.
