K-Phone is the phone dialer for all of KCI developed handhelds, and even computers. To work, there must be a telephone number associated with the account. For Messages, one will use K-Messages, and then use K-Phone for actual voice calls. This application is available on cellular phones, terrestrial SIP phones, and computers. While I am sure that cellular and SIP phones will make sense, one might be questioning why computers as well? Those that work in a call center might benefit from not having to hold a phone up to their ear, and most computers will have a 3.5mm audio port for connecting a wired set. Since K-Phone is a part of the computer’s application library, it would allow for the call center operator to essentially have their computer ring, and they can take the call without the need for a telephone on their desk.
K-Phone will support cellular to where the provider will give an nano-SIM, or eSIM support as well as SIP which is the standard for terrestrial telephones in Kaldus. Since SIP is supported, the computer just needs a connection to the WAN.
