K-VPN

K-VPN is a Virtual Private Network application. This program will allow the user to connect to a secured network server, and access the resources in that particular server’s LAN. This is usually invaluable for telecommuters that work from home. They will connect to the company’s LAN using a VPN. Any computer running K: Network will support VPN connections, so even a home server can work. For business uses, one could connect to company databases, and access corporate files that should not leave the property of the business. This will be why a VPN will be so important.

For the home use, a VPN can connect a computer to a home network, and therefore to the home’s K: NAS, or K: Vault servers. This will allow the computer to properly backup, access rarely needed files, and watch videos from the home’s video library. And since all premises will have at least 1 static IP address, this means it will be much easier to connect to the home network.

This might sound simple, but any VPN service that wished to support Kaldan residents must be able to support the use of the K-VPN app. There should be no reason why the customer should have to instal a VPN client when there is already one installed.
